AZ fireworks

Go see my sister's fireworks shots.  They are awesome!!!!!!!  She didn't have buildings, signs, and trees in her way.  Not to mention she's just incredibly talented.  :)

Happy 4th of July

Present Melody: James Blunt- All the Lost Souls- 1973

Baseball season went out with a bang...

... to my face!!!

I was warming up with Forest before his last baseball game and missed a throw right over the top of my glove.  It hit my sunglasses, didn't break them but split open my eyebrow about 1/2" or so.  It really, truly looks worse than it feels.  Only the initial hit hurt but the shock kind of subdued that.  So it's all good.  Here is a closer shot.  :)

I can already tell that summer is going to go way too fast.  I'm loving the beautiful weather after our very unseasonably cool and wet spring.  Well for the Puget Sound it wasn't all that weird.  It just lasted too-o-o-o-o long.  Anyway, school is out and I'm enjoying our relaxing days.

Forest only has three more games of Baseball.  He had started catching three games ago and is having fun with that.  During his game yesterday he got hit in the thigh about two inches away from where it counts.  Aaron says, "get that boy a cup!!!!"  Which reminded me that I saw one at the dollar store the other day and I remember thinking, "should you trust a $1 cup?"  I think I'll be heading to GI Joes sometime today.  :)

He was so excited, during one inning he got a third base hit, but then he stayed there the rest of the inning and they got three outs.  :(  He just thought He would get to run home in this shot:

Grayson started T-ball yesterday.  It was such a hoot to watch, I think, 16 kindergartners trying to catch and throw.  They loved batting of course.  It didn't take them long to figure out how to whack that ball off the T.  I didn't take my camera because I knew I would want to be available to help handle Grayson.  Luckily he only had one incident, where he punched one of the older brothers in the stomach.  He's actually my visiting teaching partners son.  And the two of them sort of go at it from time to time.  Anyway, I benched him for a few minutes and he was much better the rest of the time.  He totally has that alpha-male attitude.  You can totally see it in the way he acts around other boys who are slightly bigger than him.  Very interesting to watch.

So a few more pics:

I love all the tiny little Big Leaf Maple sprouts everywhere.  At least that's what I think they are.  The red stems sure look like it.

And this was yesterday when Grayson, Hattie & I went out for a walk in our "neighborhood to talk about the things we see." (library summer reading program)

So that's what we've been up to now that school is out.  We have Pack meeting tonight.  Then play day at the park, T-ball practice & baseball game tomorrow evening.  Busy tomorrow, any ideas for a quick yummy dinner?

Well if you got this far down my photoblog maybe I should tell you a little bit about me. I'm pretty short, brunette, petite...
no just kidding. I am a very blessed wife and mother. I married Aaron very young and we have both been pleasantly surprised at how well we fit each other. Most couples in our place would have been divorced long ago. We seem to fill in each other's short comings very well.
We have 5 beautiful, loud, busy, crazy, wild, smart children. I thought for sure that when I got a girl she might be quiet and sweet, but no such luck. Well she's sweet as can be but she's just as loud and rough as her brothers. Our four boys are each so different and individual. We love their imaginations and their thoughtfulness. My grandmother would be so proud of the liberal children we are raising. I guess I should introduce them. Hayden is 13, Forest 11, Ethan 9, Grayson almost 6, and Hattie 3. They are awesome!!!!!!! You might get to see a picture of them now and then in my photoblog. :)
